Almost perfect, I love my Sea-Dweller 43. The reason why I go to the gym and pump up my wrists. It has some presence.
I sold my SubC LN date, that one felt redundant next to the SD43. |

Based on my observation of the threads on here, as well as the increased inability to get one of these from an AD I would argue that the popularity has actually increased substantially since the watch was released. I remember when I was looking to buy one in March of 2018 there wasn’t a whole lot of love on the forums about the watch, with the exception of from a few folks. Now I’ve noticed the watch seems to be more popular with people on TRF, look at some of the polls where the SD43 is included...it’s interesting for sure. |

Got one two weeks ago. 7.5 inch wrist. Have owned several Subs, Exp IIs, GMTs, etc. it is, in my opinion, the perfect Rolex. Along with the Polar Exp II 42, it makes for the perfect two watch rotation for me.

If it was 40mm it would probably be the most popular modern Rolex

Op. No, it’s not perfect. But it’s as close to perfection as any watch which is waterproof to 4000 ft can be.

That's a beauty for sure. For me, I'd go for a SDK 4000 as it fits more like a Sub.

Not perfect, but the closest watch Rolex produces to perfect. I think shaving 1mm off the diameter and 1mm off the thickness would have made it perfect. Can't think of anything else I would want changed. Dial perfect, bezel perfect, bracelet beyond perfect if there is such a thing, and yes the cyclops is also perfect in my eyes!

Impressive watch. I have a 6.5” wrist and see all the remarks of a perfect watch fit. 7” wrist. With the dive extension taken out and sized correctly it is a very nice watch. No doubt that is has a commanding presence, to big for some but perfect for me!!!

Nope, Rolex ruined the SD. It’s just an inflated sub. I liked when the 116600 wasn’t popular

No, but if you scaled the case down to being 40mm and 11-12mm thick and made the bezel a bit thinner, then I think it would be pretty close.

Yes. Proportions are perfect for me-- slim lugs so much better than those big blocks. Love it.

It’s perfect and that red line is to die for.
126600 is the best contemporary sport rolex. The only watch that managed to take it of my wrist is a Panerai icon. |

To me, it’s pretty fine as a dive watch; but like all such designs, it’s a touch crude against something like a DD40. Horses for courses.
I have both; covers all bases. I don’t see any dive watch as sufficient by itself. So ‘perfect’ dive watch? Pretty close. ‘Perfect’ watch....no-where near. Too big and clunky. |

For me it's a great watch and as my first Rolex. Was shopping for a submariner but it felt small on wrist, plus I feel the bracelet is too small and tapered.
SD43 announced and it is perfect for me. Not to small, good heft and presence. To each their own.
