Interesting video. Buying in a frenzy is not my thing. I'm glad Rolex, as a company, is more interested in the long term stability of the brand than short term sales.

Harleys are a love / hate relationship.

I rode Harleys for many years and also had a couple of Ducatis and a Ninja that I absolutely loved. The Harleys were an overpriced pain in the ass and the dealers were money grabbers but I still paid for them brand new off the showroom floor. I think the "hype" about them is what got me because when I bought my first one it wasn't easy to get a showroom Harley. Now, there are dealer showrooms stacked to the brim and warehouses overflowing and every Tom, Dick and Jane can go grab a Harley even if they have shitty credit because of HD Financing which is 30% interest so they screw you even more. And the "service plans" that you pay thousands more for are a joke. Thanks to Sons of Anarchy and the like, people rush out to grab these bikes not knowing anything about them or their history. You start talking to a Harley rider and mention AMF to the poser and they have no idea what you're talking about. Harley started doing all the things to their production bikes that we had been doing for years. Stretching them, lowering them, adding higher handlebars or the opposite flat bars, blacking out chrome, bobbing out Sportys and throwing candy paints on them. That's all stuff the enthusiasts were doing long before Harley decided to offer productions like that.

Even Sonny Barger said it himself in one of his books that Hondas are superior.

Anyway, I'm missing pics of 3 of my bikes but I'll see if I can dig them up. Here's the rest.

Have you purchased a new Harley Davidson in the past 20 years?

Well, yes and no. You can buy a Japanese bike for less money, but there are plenty of Japanese bikes that cost more than a lowest price Harley.

As far as quality, Harley’s paint and chrome work is amazing.
Better than most Japanese bikes.
Mechanically I would say they are as good as anyone else, and better than the Italians.
