need advice

I told my AD whom I have a good relationship wiith that I was interested in a 233. So yesterday It came in and he called. Now here is the dilemma, he won't give any discount, however they will alow me to buy it on my no interest house account.

Won't budge huh? Well, you'll save about 33% by buying used. The 233 doesn't hold its value as well compared to other Pams. That 33% is another Rolex or base Pam. I have a used 111 and it looks great. Wouldn't think twice about buying a used 233.

Hey thanks mfer. Do you think the 233 is worth it? I am very happy with my 111 and I just change the strap when I feel like wearing something new. I must be honest I am reluctant to buy used.

Pam 233 is a in house mouvement p.2002 caliber witch usualy keep a good value...not right now... but eventually it will. The market price is about 12k. for new but its hard to find a used one...and if you do find one in a jewellery they will sell it for about 10k.
Personnaly I prefere the 233 than the 111...no offense!

I disagree, the 233's seem to hold their value as well as any mass produced PAM's.

I was offered 15% off of a 233 from an AD I've only bought from one before.

IMO the 233 is one of the nicest PAM's out there. GO FOR IT

I had a chance at a 233 last August but I passed to get the DSSD and I bought a 111 instead. Now I still want the 233, however in the state of the economy I would like a discount. The positive to this situation is I can put it on my house account with no interest for 6 months.

I don't know. I'd like a discount, but new isn't everything to me anymore. Used to be.

I love the 233 as well, i'm swapping my 140 for one next week, if you take the credit option then you'll have that payment coming out for a while, if you buy secondhand off Paneristi.com you'll get one for under 10k, the option is yours.

I'd like a 233 as well... the AD I deal with wouldn't move a penny.... The ones I've seen used are still asking anywhere between 11,500 or 12,500.... I've seen BNIB but, are I's or J's... 14,700..... not sure if that matters but, might as well spend the 14700 for a K at my AD & know what I'm getting no? Any advice on buying used? what to look for??

Buy the seller, not the watch. I bought my used 111G off of paneristi.com. The guy turned out to work for a jeweler, I called the jeweler and asked for him and he answered. He also had two huge references - Rob Montana and Max. He was very open to communication, did a pic request for me to make sure images were not borrowed, etc. Communicate, EXACTLY how the deal was to go down and had it all documented in email.

So, I verified where he worked.
He had two stellar references.
Did a wire transfer.
Communicated exactly how the deal would go.
Also, I will only deal in US. No foreign. Too many things can go wrong.

Also, there are major grey dealers that sell all the time. One of them is in STL by the name of Bruce. He has a 233 for sale as we speak...

Plenty of pre-owned 233s around for $9500-10500 from reputable sellers, BNIB for not much more. In this economy, an AD who won't discount has his head in the sand. Just my two cents.

Bruce is very well known in the p community. He did a GTG at his house last year. Here is a post of it.

Bruce's STL GTG

A grey dealer is just a secondary reseller that buys from AD's at a discount and sells to the secondary market. Basically a very trusted seller that is not an AD.

Pam 233 is a great watch.Personally I would'nt mind owning a pre owned timepiece. The price difference is really attractive.Just make sure you get the later models.I've read some issues with the "I" model(first production).Or better yet get the 270(10 day power reserve),a sure winner!Good luck with your decision
