Sead Kolasinac doesn't have the look of a bloke you want to mess with. Ozil, not so much.

No. Read the story,

The first thing they said straight away “Give me your watch”

I check my facts before posting, thank you.

Mercedes AMG G-wagen.

Most definitely not a Jeep.

I own a Jeep and you just made the equivalent of calling a GMT 2 a G-Shock.

Sorry to Arsenal fans... though I'm sure you could understand.

On a serious note, the conversation was never "is London safe." No city is absolutely safe, as most would imagine. The implied topic was whether London is safer than other cities, or rather, whether it's more dangerous than other cities. Data shows us that plenty of other metropolises are far more dangerous. You give me a major city and I'll dig up a story of someone getting their Rolex robbed at gun point. That's exactly what the Ozil incident does- nothing more.

Judging by the video he seems to be a scrapper!

Maybe that doesn’t happen in Canada? Perhaps Canada is completely crime free? I wouldn’t know, I don’t live there so I wouldn't like to speculate on the safety of a country in which I don’t live...

Eight homicides in Montreal so far this year. That’s a weekend in Chicago.

Reminds me of this excerpt from an article I have read: "A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly."

Does anything happen in Canada though? Honest question. I've never been but I've heard it said that it's one of the most boring places on earth (Australia also accused of this).

It's not boring at all- it's actually quite nice. The nature up there is downright breathtaking. Some societal aspects are just far more like the United States' than Canadians would care to admit.

By far the nastiest customs officers at the airport, though. Like, I thought Chicago's was bad- holy ****, Ottowa!

When I was at PwC many moons ago people could transfer to Canada for 2 years (or Australia or many other places) but people used to always come back from Canada whinging there was nothing going on. Scenic, affluent, spacious, but dull. That was a few years ago though.

Two break and enter and a likely insurance scam, Corum golden bridge lol.

No weapons let alone guns. Not on the streets.

*shrug* I always enjoyed my time there, airports aside. Nightlife, outdoor activities, casinos, etc. Sure, Kawhi Leonard would have really spiced things up the last time I was there, but hey... these things take time.

I actually admire how their government actively addresses systemic risks rather than allowing them to grow, which is something our government will turn a blind eye to for decades. Big props to the NEO stock exchange in Calgary.

Uggi, Canada is a huge place with some of the most beautiful nature and cosmopolitan cities you could ever dream of.

How old are you? Our cities are filling up with French and British who are loving every minute of it.

I don't really know what point you're trying to make. My original point is that no city is completely safe.

Here's a dashboard set up with data provided by your own government:

https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/montreal-crime/

The report estimates approximately 158 armed robberies per month. If you want to insinuate that of the thousands of armed robberies that happen per year, none of them involve a Rolex, more so a luxury watch, that's your choice.

Silly thread. Pick any big city in the world and you will find crime.

Did your police find the culprits who murdered the billionaire Barry Sherman and his wife in TO last year?

Sigh. Another thread. So many brand new members heavily pushing the fear mongering in the UK on the eave of brexit. Can you not understand that this is not the place for political discussion? I hope the mods are paying attention.
