This 100%. Rolex replaces same for same. Few years back, I bought a 16660 from a jeweler in NY, came with the 16610 clasp (93150 vs 93160). Rolex would not take the clasp mounted and replace it with the correct one. I returned the watch to the seller for a full refund (Rolex letter included) since I had no desire to own a franken piece.

Have a look at more photos. I have asked about the lume colour and have got comparison and confirmation, it is really green.

Green is on the left. Last photo shows blue lime just for comparison.

Hey mate, if the seller doesn't know how to appropriately handle a dial then I'd be very careful. Grease stains are pretty much impossible to get off these glossy dials, I personally would never buy a dial if it's been held like that.

Your choice, but be careful, would be a shame if you pay so much for a stained dial.

If I was you, I would contact Watchfinder, document all the issues, see if they will issue some kind of partial refund? compensation you could call it for the ongoing "issues"

that way you may get some of the conversion if not all of the conversion paid for by them technically.

If the OP is successful, he will have converted a £7k watch into a £14k watch. Bargain of the year if he can get the parts. I doubt he'd want a refund even if he could get it.

Yes, that is the plan :)
I need to find proper watchmaker. I was going to ask Goldsmiths and small local ones.
What do you think about Goldsmiths to change dial and hands?

I don't know anything about goldsmiths.

Perhaps start a new thread requesting the details of someone who could change them over.

Might be an idea to contact the RSC again. They would be stripping your watch down for the service.

For everyone scratching their heads about who in their right mind would convert a Kermit to a 16610LN, please remember these weren't *that* sought after before a few years ago. The market has driven the hype and price up on these considerably but I remember these were to be had for around $6-7k used which wasn't much more than the LN variant

My impression as well after a visit to with my own watch. If the black dial and insert are not original to the watch they will replace them both to make it original. Even if they don't have the absolutely correct parts they will use approximate service replacements. On another note, I don't think the (only) guy in the service lobby had ever seen an early 1675 GMT in person based on his comments. "is the rotating bezel supposed to overhang the edge of the case?", "is it supposed to rotate in both directions.", "is this the original bracelet?", "did this watch come with an all brown insert?" WTF! I thought they were the experts!? He said, send it in for $500 to authenticate the watch, after that, we will charge you to replace the dial, the hands, the insert, The gold bezel (which is what I came in for to begin with) the bracelet (Just refurbished by Rolliworks 4 months back) that they deemed too fragile and should be replaced. After that, he carefully explained that the bezel would not be the same, I would have to purchase a new bracelet, the insert, dial and hands would not be replaced with a nipple dial, and I would have to purchase everything except maybe the movement and case. Oh and they would not even send it for service until I paid the $500 separately to authenticate, and would not sell me anything until said authentication. My Dad bought it new in the early 70s and gave it to me in 1985. It's been serviced twice and I showed him the receipts and the warranty cards. Sorry for the rant. No, not really…

It's not a surprise when considered objectively. The parts that differentiate the 16610LV from a 16610LN have been removed and replaced with parts that (while genuine) are incorrect for the watch. Something that cannot be done as an 'authorised' alteration. If Rolex would without question replace these parts this would be an easy method for people to abuse in order to turn one LV and one LN in to two LVs. Rinse and repeat for a money making scam.

If it was just the bezel insert that was missing or incorrect a new one would be issued (although since the insert is a Geneva HQ exchange part if you were to make multiple requests for 'lost inserts' you will quickly find yourself not being supplied the part anymore). But there is no way for the dial to be wrong without something fishy having taken place. Hence; they wont touch it.

watchguy.co.uk is the man for this job! if you check his website, he documents everything with photos, I would imagine he would even do a blog on your watch as it has a story.

I used him to service my late fathers Rolex recently, got about 150 photos back of everything and cost circa £260.

So, after a quite a long time, here it is :). The watch with correct parts installed

Last photo with old parts that probably will go for sale.

I like it a lot and would like to enjoy it for a while. Ultimately it will go to Rolex for service quote and most likely for service as well.
