It’s an amazing reference and has wrist presence like few others however IMO it’s a weekend or casual wearing watch and not a daily for all the reasons that you probably already intuitively know.

I've had the black and JC versions of the DSSD. I really wanted to love it, but in the end it was just too tall and heavy. Yes, a weekend watch it's great as. Everyday, no that didn't work for me. I now have the SD43 as my daily, and a Hulk as a special occasion. I'm content. FYI; wrist size is 6.5, and I think the SD43 looks and wears great!

I have a 126660, and it's the the most comfortable watch I own by far.

Mine has been my daily now for 12 months, and I don't find it top heavy in the slightest.

One thing I love about it, is despite it's comfort I am always aware that I am wearing it. This is helpful as I have never banged it in a doorway or on anything at all.

I never owned a 116660, but I understand that the 126660 does noticeably wear better, and I think you may find that a lot of the comments in this thread saying that the watch could not be worn as a daily reflect experience with the 116660, but not the 126660 owners experience.

too thick. i think its really only 43mm as i think that was a topic way back when the DSSD was released. Anyway for the thickness IMO it really needs to be at least a 45mm watch for it to be proportionate. I owned the previous version and didn't dislike it at all though. Just a bit off as far as tall vs wide proportions

Anyone who can pull off that watch (myself included) could also pull it off with a bit more diameter

Love it! Got the JC in Apr and it's hardly left my wrist (6.75"). Yes, it has the heft but a very balanced watch with the new wider clasp. My suggestion is to have your AD size it correctly by removing the dive extension link plus one link from the opposite side of the bracelet. Use the glidlock to get the optimal fit. This way the clasp sits almost symmetrical at the base of your wrist giving you the optimal weight balance.

I have the green Sub, the black Deepsea and the red-letter Sea-dweller.

Three different sizes and weights. I don't have any problem switching from one to the other.

I notice the weight if i haven't worn it for a few days but after an hour or so I forget about it.

Always makes me laugh these threads though when people say they bang into things when wearing a deepsea. Its only 5mm thicker than a Sub c and 2.5mm thicker than a SD4000, I do get though that it can be a little tight under a shirt cuff. I say go for it. Wear mine mostly every day and won't be selling anytime soon.

The DeepSea is great. I'd traded my SubC for it and haven't looked back, the SubC was just too small for me. Like someone else said, you get used to the size and weight of the DSSD quickly, but then it takes a LONG time to get used to a 40MM again after that!

you will appreciate the feeling of wearing something special and you will be proud of it
but
if you feel comfortable with your Sub don't sell it.

I wear mine daily with a suit. My wrists are 7.75"

No issues with my shirt cuffs. If worn properly (not loose), I dont notice it on my wrist.

Same as me, on 8'' wrist. This watch is fantastic and to be honest, it made all of my other watches look very thin right now! I got used to its thickness, feels like a proper man's watch

I have a blue DSSD and it fits fine. No issues with the weight( we are talking grams not kilos). If you like the look than go for it.

I really love the look, feel, and heft of my D-Blue Deepsea. It's quite comfortable and balanced. Did not regret choosing this over the Sub.

My DS JC sees more wrist time than any watch I have. While I dont wear a watch every day, I do wear the DS at least twice a week, its one of my favorites if not my fav because you can wear it pretty much anywhere. If you are a Panerai guy and/or like a nice thick watch that really has a presence on the wrist, the DS is for you. If your a dainty guy that wears a 36m date just, probably not for you...

Love mine, 7.5” wrist. I think it looks smaller since the proper dial is actually smaller than say a 40mm piece due to the thicker bezel and the grey ring. Large watches that have a continuous color of bezel and dial appear larger to me than those where the color is broken up through contrast.

For me the best part is the lime green DEEPSEA text. It’s awesome

I have a 7.25 wrist. My last watch was a pelagos and was a dream to wear. I bought the dssd and a rubberb. It took a while but now i love it and barely notice it on my wrist. What i do notice is how i never tire of looking at it or moving that super slick bezel. It has no equal.

I have both 116660 and 126660 D-Blue. I don’t like to wear my watch tight. The thickness of the watch cause some wobbling and doesn’t well fit some of my shirts with tight sleeves. Comparatively, 126600 is a bit more comfortable to wear. But these doesn’t stop me from loving them because the color of dial look stunning imho.
