eBay PowerSeller - neofasion's listing possible RE-Case 1675..NOT FACTORY Original...

Err buddies...when Orchi 1st seen this listing by eBay PowerSeller - neofashion...
Orchi has some suspicion...
n was skeptical about the Case of the 1675 watch that is...
being listed as "ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL" NOS watch...with "BOX & PAPERS"...

ONE more day...before the listing is ended.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300291177599

Here are the pictures...showing the Case to be in Brand New
conditions...

Upon close inspection of the Case # n Serial Nos...stamping...
Orchi finds the discrepancies of the alphanumeric fonts...which are
inconsistently too MODERN...NOT to be normally found on watches of that
age...around 1972.

Also found on the questionable 1675 listing...
is the US made clasps on the watch...
which can be seen as NOT being in NOS conditions...which
is contrary to the Seller's claim in the listing...

Here are the comparisons of the BIGGER n OLDER alphanumeric fonts...commonly found on watches of that age...
hence...Orchi is of opinions that the 1675 GMT Master watch...may have been RE-CASED...n
the Case Ref # n Serial Nos....RE-Stamped by RSC at its later age...at best.

Also...in this picture from the listing...one would see that
the centre links of the so called "ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL" 1675
in NOS conditioned watch's riveted bracelet...is questionable...
having the WRONG arrangement...being the split longer side of the
centre links...nearest to the watch case...
It should be the the shorter side nearest to the watch case...

This riveted bracelet links looks to be...of a later replacement bracelet...
NOT original for the watch...

Furthermore...Orchi has since brought up the same topic in the VRF forum...
Here are the responses...so far.

Orchi, Good looking watch; but then I'm nuts over Rolex's. Is the 1675 on your movement
the cal, or does cal refer to something else and where do I fin it?
Best regards, Bonkers

the case maybe a new service case by RSC. the hands are corroded. the used bracelet looks good, US bracelet has center link like that... so how can it be a NOS watch???

advice orchi !

Hi orchi

Read your sharp comments on 1675 posted on ebay, and got some question about one of my own wish i bought this year from a dealer in lisbon.
My doubt is mostly about the way the serial numbers are engraved, wish shows apparently the same characteristics of the one you've commented.
Can i have your oppinion about it ? would like to send you some pics
thanks in advance, gonçalo

Err buddies...11 hours to go...before the listing ends...

The topic has since attracted additional comments...from the relevant
experienced members in VRF...

General consensus says...the watch is NOT All FACTORY Original watch...!

Hoping Lady Casper would get these information asap...to get eBay
to react accordingly...

The eBay PowerSeller MUST be held accountable for repeated discrepancies...
found in his listings of Rolex watches...!

I just looked at my 1675 from the same era, the model number and serial number are indeed much fainted. Those look like the were just stamped yesterday in comparison.

Orchi, I posted on this watch in the other forum, here it is again. That case is not from Rolex in my opinion, but probably from the forbidden website:

The box isn't USA vintage 1974 - watch was probably sold around 1974/75. And it is pretty beat-up compared to the watch. Hands are pretty rusty, but the movement isn't judging from the pics. Case numbers looked like they were enhanced by photoshop for the auction pics.

I'd stay clear. I also have a 1972 GMT and it doesn't bode well when compared to mine. looks like a a repop - counterfeit - purchased from the forbidden web site we all know about.

Lastly, I'm assuming someone kept this watch secure for 40 years, in an old Rolex box, and threw away all the tags and warranty paper. (I'm not buying that story.)

I wouldn't touch it for half the asking price. Hell, I wouldn't touch it all!!!!

Err buddy Springer...aaahhh...Orchi sees what you mean now...TQ!

Hopefully this time...Lady Casper might get eBay to consider using...
a stiffer whip on the PowerSeller...!

Err buddies...this time quicker than expected...eBay has whipped the bad
listing off eBay PowerSeller - neofashion ...again.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300291177599

For repeating the same offense...eBay should bring out n use the rope...
Maybe Lady Casper can tie the proper knots onto the rope...
