ADs in Rome & Capri
Good Day
Has anyone had any luck this summer finding SS pieces at AD’s in Italy? I am not optimistic but am going to be looking for a 116610 LV while traveling in Italy the next 2 weeks. Wish me luck. |

I was there early summer.
I stopped by the ADs in Capri, Rome, and Milan. No luck. There have so many tourists- I'm sure a lot of people walking in and asking for the same thing. They were nice enough. Don't get your hopes high. |

ADs in Rome & Capri
There was a hulk for sale at a pre-owned dealer on Via Camerelle. It may still be there. It’s the pre-owned shop that is also an AD for Audemars and Lange. I am forgetting the name but you can’t miss it.

you will see a few pre-owned/grey resellers. My parents were there in July and had a hard time finding anything. they were able to track down a few 41mm SS and ultimately got an azurro blue dial. apparently it was 1 of 3 41mm DJs they were able to find, otherwise its slim pickings. my understanding the easiest thing to do was look in Rome as they have like 5+ ADs all within a short distance of eachother, otherwise, unless youre doing a cross country drive, they are scattered.
PS re a hulk, there were no sports models anywhere. my stepdad was set on finding one and since they were doing a drive through Italy, they stopped in like 7+ ADs on their travels until he settled on the 41mm DJ, which he got for a great price due to the VAT refund. Nothing else. Also interesting to note, many ADs would even refuse to give the forms for a VAT refund, and would instead offer up to 15% off the pp. |

I will be in Capri next week, hopefully I can get to the store before you!
Seriously, as an exercise, it will be interesting to see if we get the same answers. |

Stop by the Trevi fountain in Rome and make a wish. Then stop by the ADs cause it going to take a miracle in either of those tourist locations

Last October I was in Rome, Naples, Capri, Florence, and Milan.... The Florence AD on the bridge with all the gold shops pulled a no date sub from the back just by asking. The Rome AD’s wouldn’t discount a gold president 118135 for my wife. All we asked for was 10% so we walked. Very small AD’s in Rome, about the size of a walk in closet. Capri is a seasonal island which closes up shop at the beginning of October so any inventory will be leftovers from the summer. However, weather will be spectacular and few crowds... great time to go, enjoy!

For the last time - there is ZERO chance of you finding a ss sport Rolex in Europe unless you have some very strong contacts. And much less a Hulk, it is a very sought after model.

We vacationed in Italy for 3 weeks back in May/June ... I stopped at 4 ADs during our travels which included Sienna, Rome, Firenze and numerous small towns.
I didn’t see a single SS professional reference but I did enjoy the pasta |

I was just in Rome and stopped by an AD they didn’t have much to speak of in SS other than a YM and Explorer I. As others have said enjoy your vacation and keep your expectations low when visiting ADs there.

When I go back to Italy next year I will not waste one precious minute of my time at another useless AD.

In Rome now. AD by Spanish Steps had a YM II SS in the case and some two tone SkyD. I was looking for a TT Bluesy which they didn’t have. Apparently Rolex is on break for a month, several comments stating they’ll be receiving shipments in September.

ADs in Rome & Capri
Quote:
I believe many brands have a summer holiday period where they shut down manufacturing for a few weeks to a month. AP is similar which is why SA at the boutique told me the new 38mm chronographs are arriving in September |

Capri had a YMII and two tone yacht master earlier this week. In Rome now and just trying to walk by most of the ADs are packed with tourists.

Good luck with a Hulk.
As stated in here the normal watch youll find is a Stainless Steel YM2. It's everywhere because no one wants to buy it. |

I was in Rome last in september 2018. They have no SS sport watches. I ended up buying a preowned GMT 2 Pepsi E series from Bedetti Rome. With box and papers. Bedetti sells Pre owned. Ecellent staff. I went to all the Hausmann in Rome. They have 3 locations. They have no SS except the Datejust. You can find preowned from dealers in Rome. But they are very expensive. On preowned watches you do not get the vat tax refunded. Good luck.

If you're not married to the idea of a new model, Watches of Rome near the Spanish Steps has one of the best vintage collections I've ever seen (probably one of the best vintage shops in all of Europe).
My wife and I are going to Rome for Thanksgiving and I've set aside an entire day to dedicate to their store. |

All watches on display: 0% discount. That's how ADs operate now.
