tight wind
Hi, new here and first Rolex! I have a 20 yr old date just size 31 ladies Rolex. My husband feels its a little tight on the wind. is this normal for a 20 yr old watch? the company we bought it from (certified Rolex dealer) has checked it over and they say its normal for this aged watch. Do we need to be concerned?
piece of mind is what we are looking for. Its a small fortune to have it serviced, and it is under warranty with company we bought it from. They said they took the back off and checked it all out and its fine. |

If you doubt the technical opinion of the company you bought it from the warranty you have with them is worthless.
If I bought a 20 year old Datejust I’d pony up and have it serviced properly so you start with a clean slate with the watch. And to address your question; winding that is “a little tight” really can’t be diagnosed as either a problem or being normal via a forum. It’s far too subjective. You need to get a watchmaker to look at it. |
