Hardest to find new Rolex watches

Daytona
Oysterflex daytonas
Batman

What else is considered an amazing pick up based solely on looks and excess of market value over retail?

None are hard to get if you are willing to pay, as today many are just bought then flipped to grey. As in todays world Rolex watches are no longer watches bought to be enjoyed, too many just seen now as little more than ££££$$$$.

LOL

I don’t like any of those but if I walk past an AD and they are sitting there and I can sell them immediately for substantially more than I paid for them...I would buy and flip them immediately

Is that not capitalism 101? Buy low, sell high...

as long as you are consistent its fine.

Its when people complain about "market" price and are stuck on retail as the real price but then sell their own watches (flipped of otherwise) for what they are actually worth. Its hypocritical to want 1/2 of a free market

I would argue that if you can buy them at retail and sell for a profit, that isn't capitalism. Thats price controls which isn't very capitalistic. In a capitalist market it would equalize and flipping wouldn't be a thing. You are only making money because someone else cant or is being prevented from doing so. No different than rent control when you cant rent your property for what its worth, and have to rent it for what someone else tells you its has to rent for.

And everyone wonders why they make the buying process difficult for walk ins.

it's obvious that the OP is in the wrong state of mind.
Rolex is one of those brands where the product is plentiful, but the scarcity is only fuelled by speculation.
Sad.

Blame Rolex. They are the root cause. Flipping is just a symptom. I myself have only ever bought 2 rolexes. One I still own and one I gave to my dad.

But if I see a risk free opportunity to make a few thousand dollars for my family, am I bad guy if I take it?

Lol. This board is filled with people who like to preach as to others motives and objectives. I buy what I like when I like and where I like. I don’t flip and have a nice collection of watches including 5 Rolex’s.

If a Milguass was selling for 3 times retail I still would not buy. If I stumbled on a white face Daytona which won’t happen, I would grab it because I like it. I have randomly seen Rolexes that I wasn’t planning on buying, saw it for the first time and grabbed it. For example I have a Batman from 2 1/2 years ago that I walked in to a dealer, saw it in showcase and bought it

Blame Rolex for their successful marketing which making more people falling in love with their sport model series. By making more watches doesn't really solve the problem but only devalue the brand.

I’m pretty sure that’s Rolex’s new marketing tag line

This. All those poor, lonely Rolexes, never getting worn, just sitting in their boxes all stickered up, getting passed around like a virtual currency.

The datejust 36mm 2 tone in yellow gold is great in this case! The yachtmaster 2 stainless steel and yachtmaster 2 two tone as well. Good luck in your hunt!

Let’s hope your AD qualify customers then and don’t sell to flippers.
Most decent ADs only sell these models to trusted repeat customers and VIPs

VIP stands for "Virtually impossible to Purchase" in a modern Rolex AD
