Business Casual - Rolex
So
Life has changed. Where I work it is business casual. I remember the days of ties and suits seems no more. Parking and walking two blocks to work in 97 degree weather makes me appreciate the business casual dress. Any help here? I normally wear Polo shirts. Love to dress in all black. But will sometimes wear other color Polos. (Mostly Old Navy Polos). And Black Jeans (Old Navy). Shoes have been New Balance Black. Rain, slippery, they work. Sometimes I through in my Allen Edmonds as they wear well. Do you see a theme here? Similar to what Steve Jobs wore. I also have the black mock turtle necks for colder weather. Can you offer any advice for a long sleeve Polo? I tend to gravitate to slim as I around 142 pounds. I also normally clip a MontBlanc 146 to the Polo just below the last button as there is no pocket. I think it adds a nice touch. Comments? I attached a picture of what I think is a casual Rolex to wear? So any comments or criticism of dress? What would you change? It is hard for me to wrap my head around business casual. I am 57. Shirts must have a collar where I work. What do you wear? How would you change what I am wearing? What do you wear for business casual? What defines your style? Favorite brand clothes, shoes, etc? Thanks |

So are you looking for style tips or a watch to go with the Johnny Cash vibe?

I would change the pen to a mechanical pencil, put it behind your ear, and never wear all black unless you are on SEAL team, working in a nightclub, going to a nihilist party, or a funeral. If you must wear all black then you may as well wear a deep black Omega or the all black Suunto otherwise you're just not committing.
My style is anything Italian off the 70% off rack. |

To the OP, the watch you posted is perfect. I too like black apparel......an explorer would work too.

Just about your age, OP. I'm a khakis and a button down kinda guy. Nice pair of shoes. I'll throw on a blazer, if traveling.

Almost forgot, if you're allowed sneakers then you have to check out the new On Cloud shoe. I saw some in all black and another in black/silver. I love mine in tan.

Thanks all
The all black thing? My former career it was a requirement except for that little tiny white collar tab at the neck. I prefer solid Polos and will add a dark red at times so as not dressing 100% black. I hate to think about matching clothes. Black jeans don't really look like jeans. Black socks of course and black sneakers look more like what you would see people in the medical profession wear. Although, and I have watched some fashion on You Tube you can wear Wing Tips with jeans. The New Balance are cheaper (much) and I don't need to send them back for new bottoms. (AE Recrafting) I do need to find a brand of long sleeve Polo shirts (slim fit) that will work when the weather changes to cold. Anyone have a favorite Polo brand? I could also mix in more Khaki pants thinking Chino. |

Instead of long sleeve shirts just wear a casual sport coat/lounge jacket, then when they crank up the heater you can take it off and still be comfortable. For the watch I would consider maybe changing it up with some rubber straps: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For long sleeve polos, check out the Criquet brand out of Austin, TX. I have a couple of their slim SS ones and plan to snag a couple of LS for the fall. I also like the Van Heusen and Kenneth Cole ones.
For shoes, check out the Timberland Pro line. They have an oxford toe work shoe that is great. I wear the brown ones and will walk miles in them in a day comfortable. Good support, non-slide sole, last a long time. How about a Speedy Pro for a watch? You can change up the look often on different style straps. |

FWIW, the beauty of Rolex is that you can wear just about and Rolex reference with any kind of apparel. Sure some are more dressy than others, but they’re all sport models (save Cellini).
As for your business casual outfit, I’m sure you’ll get comfortable with what others wear and dress in a similar vibe. I haven’t worn a suit in years for work. Mostly jeans and tees/ shirts. |

I prefer button down to polos...more variety in patterns, maybe break out of your monotone shell.
Been buying TM Lewin and Charles Tywhitt shirts (both ordered online), they always have sales. Also looking into buying some Revtown jeans. https://revtownusa.com They were created by some ex-Under Armour execs blending athletic stretch material with denim, and the reviews have been good. Otherwise it's Zara chinos or Michael Kors jeans. For shoes its either Ecco sneaker style shoes, or when its really business CASUAL (no high level meetings) then Jordans. The office attire for today (with '68 Tudor 7016). Attachment 1070906 |

Millennial here.
Here's a few answers for you: Casual Watch: - Don't get a 36mm; - Go DJ II with Oyster bracelet Shirt: - Look at the company Mizzen + Main for button-downs (athleisure and business casual in one; also great for that hot walk) Shoes: - Grab some To Boot New York sneakers. - Nordstrom Rack has some on sale right now. |

I think it depends on the climate, location plus the type of industry, age and the personality of the person.
Here in SoCal business casual is still pants (cotton or denim) and long sleeve button shirt. (no tie) if your 40 and younger. But again there are those who believe LuLu Lemon is considered business casual here. Same with Travis Mathew's attire. Then you have the self employed over 50 crowd who rock Tommy Bahama and Reyn Spooner with shorts or slacks. So it just really depends. |
