Rolex 16750 question

I picked this watch up from a dear friend. It needs to be completely serviced, new Crystal etc.
But I have a few questions. Who would you send it to? And what exactly do I have here? Anything special? Or is it just a run-of-the-mill 16750. Thx

Depends. If you want a vintage-like Pepsi you got it. I prefer to wear a watch that is like new...very handsome. I have a 1978 Pepsi I purchased new in 1981. I wore it every day. I have sent it (and wife’s two-tone date just) to the Rolex Service Center in Dallas. You can get the procedure on the Rolex site. It will take about six weeks and cost you around $1,500 or so. The RSC will keep you informed the whole way and send you the price quote for your approval. It will come back like brand new with a two year warranty card embossed with model and serial number. Others will have advice, but what I would do.

I would have the movement serviced and the hands relumed. The pictures are not great so hard to tell if the dial has any damage. A nice 16750 is a valuable watch these days. I would not send to Rolex but rather a vintage specialist, I have used LA Watchwerks in the past and been happy.

It's a matte dial 16750 which is sweet. One of the earlier ones.

I would not get any parts changed. Just get the movement serviced.

Lume is failing on the hands. I think LAWW can stabilize it and color match the missing portions.

Phillip Ridley is in the Metroplex and he'll do an outstanding job for you.
