116500LN owners — how does your bracelet feel?

Hi all,

I recently purchased the 116500LN white dial ceramic daytona from my AD and I was surprised by how different the bracelet felt from the Sub and GMT’s oyster bracelet. The Daytona bracelet feels noticeably lighter and flimsy(?).

Can other owners share their thoughts? Thanks!

I think the feel is due to the lightness/size of the Daytona, not the bracelet per se.

I was referring to the bracelet feel itself. For example, when I try to make the bracelet "wave" on my sub, it's a bit tougher and heavier, whereas the Daytona's is much lighter -- and dare I say it, like a fake's?

Sorry, I can't say if the bracelets themselves have different specs that would give the condition you mention.

How do you make your bracelet “wave”? I own all three watches in your comparison and all are comfortable. Admittedly, the three Daytona dials make reading time impossible without my reading glasses.

I also have all three you mention and never noticed the difference you claim.

Maybe it’s fake

I can't understand what you might mean. Oysters are awesome. Maybe you are playing around with this wave too much and ruining you bracelets?

If you go back to the AD, maybe keep to yourself that you are playing with the bracelet in an unusual way.

Hmmm... I had both and the bracelet themselves I believe are identical, except for PCL and the clasps. I never noticed any difference. Perhaps what you are sensing is the difference in weight between the glidelock and easy link clasps? Or maybe one bracelet is stiffer than the other?

Thanks for the responses everyone. Like ddubb said, "stiffer" was probably the right word to use. Despite being a newer watch, the bracelet feels much less stiff than my other Oyster bracelets.

Not a big deal, but the difference was noticeable for me so I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

Definitely will feel a little lighter than a 116610 bracelet simply cause if the clasp. The gmt 116710 bracelet is very very similar. Not identical but close to it. It’s just the watch itself that makes it feel more substantial.

Yes the 116500 bracelet feels light and a little flimsy compared to say a SS Sub.

If you think that feels light dont even try any 5 digit models. You will definitely think your wearing a fake. LOL - the very first time I felt a 5 digit in my hands I could not believe it was the real deal.

I will avoid the 5 digits then ;) Thanks for sharing; relieving to hear someone else felt the same

I need to take better care of this watch. I've only had it for 2 weeks and so many scratches already (I have been wearing it daily/everywhere though)

My, that’s a lot of wear marks for two weeks. Mine’s been more than a year and it is barely scratched up.

I totally agree with what you are saying. If you compare it to the Sub oyster, feels a lot flimsier. I do think it’s mostly because the entire package is quite light. The solution is PM.

The bracelet feels great. The balance of the ceramic Daytonas is a major, major plus.

I’ve noticed no difference. I’ve owned multiple SS and PM sports watches and IMO, the bracelet on my white dial ceramic Daytona is superb just like the watch.

Being that you can swap 20mm Professional bracelets freely amongst the different models, it’s not the bracelet itself you’re feeling. The Daytona is smaller and lighter than a Sub or GMT.

I own all three, and My Daytona felt great after a half link was added. It’s on par with the others. maybe slightly more comfortable since the Daytona case is a little smaller. It would be a tough call between it and the Pepsi jubilee.
