Finally got to see a Grand Seiko.

After watching many YouTube videos, I’ve decided a GS GMT with Spring Drive or hi-beat will be on my wish list. Ideally I would like a Peacock or other LE blue dials but they will have to be imported with a hefty premium.

Ive contacted a GS AD in London to see SBGE205 and SBGJ201.
So yesterday I’ve tried both watches on and was blown away with the quality and finish of the GS.
It felt more solid, robust than my tt Submariner. The whole watch feels very smooth to touch. The Zaratsu finish is definitely an experience you need to see in person.







I prefer the lug design and short crown of the SBGJ201 but dislike the rough dial texture.


Here is the biggest problem.
Both watches are far too thick.



I don’t think it’ll be comfortable wearing a chunky piece on my slim wrist
