Regular service for 1977 Submariner
Depending on who I talk to, I am getting mixed messages on routine preventative maintenance. My local expert (qualified to work on Rolex and uses genuine parts and is inspected by Rolex) states that since my Sub is running fine, he recommends to leave it alone. Nearest authorized Rolex dealer recommend sending back to Rolex for service due to age. My local expert states that parts may not be available for a 1977 Sub. Is regular (every 7-10 year) service necessary? Have you had problems getting parts for older Subs?
I plan to give to my son in about 12 months so I want it in good shape. Is Michael Young the "go to guy' for restoration of stainless steel oyster bracelet? Thanks for your help. Tim |
