dishonest rolex moves?
I have a question not of dishonesty but of things that are often switched to make frankenstine watches that would appear of a higher value..
for example I have heard of a sap. crystle conversion kit from a old plastic to appear new in date and datejust and oysterpep. models I have seen all SS model datejusts go thru two tone conversion. with new aftermarket band and bezel with rolex older clasp put back on. I would imagine Sub to LV conversion. Blk modern milg. to green glass version. There was a RASH of Stainless steal wanna be president bands that were attempted to be sold in every jewelry store in our area because they hold the acid test that most places perform. What are common things to check for and what models seem to be more suspect? Just trying to help build my knowledge base thank you again in advance. This last year we have had two Day date presidents in an actuall Full 18k case and brace with a phoney moment try to be sold to us, so i am becoming more and more cautious and thankfull for what information this list has provided. and also highly recoment the ROLEX report book, that has also been invaluble.
