ROLEX 1960's osyter date, advice needed
Good morning enthusiasts, this is post will be a bit long so i apologize in advance.
I was recently gifted an inherited a 34mm 1960's oyster perceptual date which has been in the family since bought new till this date. To be honest i was always a more of an Omega fan, but since i received this watch even though it's in a extremely bad shape my heart changed. (tried to attach but wouldn't let me, apparenty i am newbie :D So i need to revive her and bring her back to life but i ma not sure if i can do it all at once (Budget wise) and some changes should be made in the first place (Authenticity and Vintage) so here we go one by one Bracelet - it has 7205 bracelet on it missing end links, from my search i should be looking to get 57 end links but i cant find them no where. -there are 557 available but no connectors plus im not sure if they will fit, other model also like 60, 62 etc but again i don't know if they will fit. - other option is to ger 7835 with 557 end links or so and completely change (dont know if i should do that) Glass/acrylic and crown needs to be changed - i check with the dealer they will do it, but should i go to Rolex or some specialist can do the job cheaper ? I am thinking of changing the Dial - Rolex showed me some options but its quite costly, so the question is should i change the dial ? or it will loose its vintage spirit ? if i will change it what are my other options other than dealer and which model no./reference should i be looking for ? I am looking forward to all you comments, advises, recommendations, even info about the history the model if youd like to. P.S watch model ref 1500 , movement 1575. cheers :) |
