What strap to modernize?

Greetings folks. I'm not that versed on strap, lug sizes and do's and don'ts so thought I would come here for a recommendation.

I've always stayed away from gold watches as they remind me of my dad and his style was very different than my style. I mostly wear SS chrono's like a Daytona.

Lately I've been noticing a lot of gold rolex's making a comeback and I like the way they look on other people but it feels weird when I put one on, especially my dads watch.

Thought I would ask for some strap suggestions that might make this watch a little more sporty and to my taste.
