Watch Subjectivity vs Retail Chance
Say that you are visitting you're local ad/boutique and wearing your mightiest piece in your arsenal/the same model/not wearing a watch at all. Will it affect your chances of getting a coveted model?
Some responses from the SA I came to mind are : 1. This guy has a lot of money, we might "fish" him out with hublots, datejust etc before giving him what he wants. 2. This guy is wearing the same model, maybe he's not a flipper and we might trust him with the daytona/royal oak etc. 3. He's not wearing a watch at all, a new customer, maybe we can give him a submariner for his entry to the game (I have read on this forum some are getting royal oak 38mm without any prior purchase history) or all together just dismiss him as those who are joining the hype. 4. He's got a killer/complicated piece, he knows and likes horology, so maybe he's less a flipper. Any thoughts or prior experience regarding to this? |
