Have people experienced lume problems?
Recently, I have heard of and seen, first hand, some "problems" or "issues" involving lume on various watches both Rolex and otherwise. For example, a few DSSD owners have stated that the lume on their watches "failed" necessitating dial replacements. Other people have complained about inconsistent intensity of brightness from lume point to lume point when their watch is exposed to light. (eg. some hour markers brighter than others or one hand bright and the other considerably dimmer, etc.)
I pose this question understanding full well that the brightness and duration of glow is effected by the intensity and length of time the watch is exposed to light. I also understand that lume deteriorates over time and that the brightness and duration of glow also depends upon the type of luminescent material used and the amount/quantity of material used. However, the "problems" that I am inquiring about are separate and distinct from these issues. I'm curious.....have people had problems with the lume on their watches? If so, what is the nature of the problem and what was the remedy, if any? |
