I also live in the Bay Area and have visited both the SoCal and Vegas AP dealers and/or now boutiques.

Experiences were fine, if you temper expectations of getting a RO anytime soon. They'll happily talk about the brand, your interests, and capture your info but good luck getting anything outside of a Code for your first purchase. (Even those have a wait at this point, although a piece or two seem to trinkle in if you don't have a specific dial or complication preference).

In terms of a remote purchase, unsure but a friend of mine did have to fly in to the Vegas boutique to purchase a piece that was allocated to him. Whether that is due to his modest 'status' or a store policy do not know.

Hope they open a boutique around our parts in the next couple years.
