I've ripped my calf muscle

Hi all

About ten days ago I ripped my left calf muscle. Thing is, I wasn't doing anything at all strenous. I was stepping over something keeping my leg straight, toes pointed skyward when I felt an almighty "crack". At first I thought I had snapped a tendon, but the hospital tested it & said I ruptured/ripped my calf muscle. My calf & foot are incredibly swollen & I'm on crutches.

I'm normally quite fit & active & am perplexed as to why this happened...

Just over the last day or so I've now got an almighty black & green bruise all over my foot (even on the sole) and all over my calf & shin.

Anyone else done this? Am I really getting too old...?
