After a 9 month wait I finally got the call from my AD last Friday.
I'm not sure if the 9 month wait is long for this piece here in Sydney, or if there were others ahead of me who said no, but I don't really care, I am super chuffed! The timing of this has worked out quite well. A great gift to myself following a fairly significant promotion late last year and a nice birth year watch for my daughter who was born in January. I now have 21 years to enjoy this before its all hers. I know the 36mm isn't for everyone (I much prefer the aesthetics of this over the 41 despite having a huge wrist), let alone the diamonds but I absolutely love the piece, even if I am already thinking about what's next! Mini side story: I owned a 16233 in the past that I bought following many years of saving and flipping comic books as a teenager. I ended up selling the watch when I started working in professional services as I felt I was being judged by some of the partners (especially so when trying to negotiate pay rises etc.). A huge regret and idiotic thought from my younger self but now that I am much older and more senior the assumptions of others don't really concern me. If they want to judge then judge. I'll lean into it and just do me. |
