Insure Your Watch?

Not USAA but State Farm. I somehow had dropped by Datejust into the bottom of my golf bag and after the round I couldn't find it and thought it had fallen out sometime. Many frantic calls to the pro shop and bar came up short and I finally called my agent. I had insured the watch under a PAF (personal articles floater) which covers all risks of loss. A few weeks later I received from SF a 8x10 certificate stating is was good for any Datejust from an authorized retailer. I took it to a downtown San Diego jewelry shop and picked out a beautiful white dial Roman numeral. After about a month I was playing golf and dropped my golf glove into my bag. I turned it over and, yup, out came the Rolex. Long story short, I had to return the new one, but I kept the extra links that were taken out to resize it for my small wrists. Point being, the Insurance company has the right to replace in lieu of cas.

I currently have all my watches and jewelry with Jewelers Mututal but after talking with them, my policy is replacement if there is a loss or claim. Which she said very specifically was they would work with a local jeweler to replace the watch or get the closest thing to it.............they would pay the jeweler directly and I could not opt for cash in lieu of replacement.

How are you guys handling it if you were to have to file a claim on a watch that is no longer being made and the replacement value due to the secondary market is through the roof.............say a Hulk for instance?

Many of you all have watches that basically cant be replaced and I have a couple myself and just wanted to make sure I am covered in the worst case scenerio.
