Tall ships in Boston [Lots of images]
After an on and off period where the City would not pay for security the Convention Center stepped up with the cash and the Tall Ships came to town for one, not the usual two weeks. The City predicted 400,000 people would go to the waterfront and were wrong....2,500,000 showed up, jump starting the tourist economy.
We went to see them Saturday and I attach a few shots. We did queue to go aboard the Russian ship--Kruzenshtern. We had a great time chatting with the very polite young Russian sailors who all were 19 years old. You will see a shots of a couple of them with my fellow tourists. I told them to put their arms around the 'girls' figuring it would feel good after weeks at sea....... The young lass reported that their grip was quite firm. I thought of Greg [Mosco...]
