Neither DD36 or DD40....are on the far ends of either size spectrum....way too small or way too large...in general. Try both on...several times...until you 'feel' consistent in your decision on size. If neither feel right, try something different.

From the wrist photos, I'd say DD36 is likely a better fit than DD40 on your wrist. The 36mm may feel a little smaller than the average man's modern day sized watches (40-44mm), but is a classic size. That said, if your wrist is smaller but body size larger (as you stated), I'm sure you'd be fine rocking the DD40 also.

My guidance...follow your gut....AFTER trying the sizes on multiple times.
