What's The Last Thing That Touched You Deeply?

What's The Last Thing That Happened Which Touched You Deeply?

As I was walking Taffi a short while ago, my mind drifted to something which occurred a few days prior . . . I had taken my mother shopping at the supermarket earlier and just finished carrying her bags to her apartment. As I was leaving and heading down the steps, she followed me to the door and in the most gentle voice said, "Faith, you are a wonderful daughter." Those words touched me to my core, causing me to spontaneously fill up with tears. I immediately put my head down so she couldn't see how deeply I had been touched. I also heard myself respond to her in a nonchalant sounding voice, "Oh, no problem." "No problem," what kind of feeble response was that?! You see, my family has traditionally dealt with one another using sarcasm and wit, and as most of you know who have read my posts, this is the level at which I feel most comfortable communicating. But my mother has leukemia and although I know that she knows I love her, she needs to hear it from me before it's too late.

Well, no sarcasm from me tonight. I'm out of my element and hope I've not been too emotionally effusive. My thinking was if I'm asking posters to put aside their defenses to talk about their feelings, than I need to walk down that plank as well. So won't you share with us, what has touched you deeply?
