Funny story at customs today
So my TT AKD arrived today from the good ol US of A and customs called me from the post office to go and pick up my package. I was there in record time of course and waited in line for the customs official to help me. When the official saw the invoice which I handed him he enquired as to the nature of this watch I was going to receive. I informed him that it was a Rolex watch and he personally proceeded to bring over my package.
He then insisted that I open the package right then and there so that he could check out the watch. When I opened the package I was amazed at how good the watch looked. Yes the seller warned that the watch was 85% but I think he was too stingy with his rating....more like 95% to be more accurate. The official proceeded to examine the watch, he smiled and turned to me full of confidence to say: "My friend, they fooled you. This is not a real Rolex but a replica." "How come?" said I. "There is no "Rolex" written on the back or any sort of writing for that matter" said the official. I smiled and quickly asked how much I owed customs....It turns out that they charged me 15% VAT on the total price of the watch. OUCH. On the bright side of things, I could not be happier. Photos soon to be posted. |
