Couple questions on storage

Looking at buying another Rolex. Question is, with not haveing to buy one of those auto turner things, how good does the rolex store. If aleternate wearing month to month say, is OK? LIke having a spare to carry with me on my travels.

Little worried on the Rolex I just bought being a D series, means sitting in the shop for over one year? So does that mean, maybe the oil will become dry sooner? The Omega store said that is waht may bave happended to my Omega, was an older model had for 2 years, but they said maybe was in the store for a couple of years before I bought?

Would think that a year old Rolex, would be good to go?
