A colleague at work just showed me a fake 16610. Looks very good. Not being an expert, I couldn't really tell it was a fake. Possibly teh cyclopse is under magnified, but other than that, to this untrained eye, it looked real. He volunteered that it was fake, given to him by his father in law, who bought it in HK. He never wears watches, and is using it to practice to see if he can wear it for a while without beating the crap out of it. If he can, he'll look to get a real one. My biggest problem with him was that he saw mine and immediately thought it was fake, since his was. That, to me, is offensive. Not because I wanted attention for wearing an expensive watch, but because I am offended that someone would think I would buy a cheap watch in order to impress anyone. That, and, it's, ya know, illegal and all.
One other thing. My bro-in-law gave me a gag gift for xmas this year - a horrible folex he bought in Kuwait years ago. I brought it into work and it sits on a file cabinet in my office. Wonder how long it'll stay there? |
