Mini Brighton GTG
Now that we're home and can relax for the weekend, I can report that Arleen and I spent a wonderful day last Saturday with Martin (jdc) and Rosemary in Brighton. They met us at the station (after a quick and pleasant 55 minute train ride from Victoria station) and we cabbed to Hove for a delightful lunch at The Ginger Pig. We were so busy talking we forgot to take any pics until the hostess shooed us into the lounge after about 2 hours at the table (they needed to make room for a party of 10). We continued chatting but did manage to take the obligatory watch pic:
and we had the waitress take a pic of the 4 of us having a grand time. After lunch, we toured the Brighton Pavillion (with it's beautiful 18th & 19th century furnishings - but no pictures allowed) and then we walked The Lanes, with their neat antiques shops and myriad of dining establishments - you could not go hungry in Brighton if you tried. We then said our reluctant goodbyes and caught our respective trains. Arleen and I want to thank Martin and Rosemary for being such wonderful hosts. Hopefully, we can someday return the favor on this side of the pond.
