2 weeks of Watch monogamy with my GMTc...now I get it!
Over the past few years I have amassed a fair collection...and have always been a believer in having a specific watch for each specific situation. But the one downside of having steady rotation is that they really just become fashion accessories...and as much as I love each of them, I don't really have that relationship, that deeper level of appreciation. So, I decided that the last 2 weeks I would just wear one watch, my GMTc...no matter what I was doing, where I was going, what else i was wearing... and all I can say is....WOW! I now understand how you can have JUST ONE WATCH!...and I think that this would be it... Something special happens when you wear a watch all the time...you pick up on subtleties that you didn't notice before...little glimpses of it as you look in the mirror, the way it looks in low light, in sunlight... The way it keeps incredible time...I've never cared much about the +/-3 sec per day, because normally I'd never have the same watch on for more than a day or two at a time...but when you think about it, it's an incredible work of engineering to have an automatic movement keep time THIS WELL! I also really got to love the PCLs...something that I could take or leave before this little trist...when they hit the light just right, it's like magic.. The AR on the cyclops...another brilliant addition... When people talk about comfortable bracelets, I had no idea what they were talking about, but Now I do...this bracelet really caresses the wrist. I could go on and on...I almost feel guilty about the fact that I have had this watch in my collection all this time and never really appreciated it! I finally get it! I realize how you could have just one... |
