FS: Rolex 1964 Day-Date serviced by Bob Ridley (REDUCED!)
I am reducing the price as I have already committed to my next watch and should collect some cash before the wife gives me grief for buying before selling. :-)
Considering the beauty of this watch and the fact that it has a relatively fresh service from Bob Ridley - this is great deal! I think I am going to regret this. Up for consideration is a beautiful Day-Date from 1964 (serial No. 1,04X,XXX). I purchased this from known collector Richard Carver about 2 years ago. It has a beautiful black glossy / gilt lettering dial. Richard informs me that he had the dial custom painted for this beautiful combo. The gold lettering just looks amazing in a gold case! The "cigarette boat" hands are supposed to be quite rare as well. It has a smooth bezel Richard sourced but it is actually an 1807. (The watch will come with the original bark bezel as well.) The watch was serviced by Bob Ridley and keeps great time. Richard Carver had the lugs polished. I also notice that the dial has irregular gold on the dial on the edge near the 7 / 8 position (you can see this in the pictures). This is for the HEAD ONLY. It comes with steel spring bars. I will through in a plated buckle but this is only a gift and not part of the price of the head (I make this clear because I don’t know if the buckle is authentic or not). The watch will also come with a handsome Horween Shell Cordovan strap as well another that is a lizard. I have a President bracelet that was recently polished but it still has dents, heavy polished, stretched and short (see bottom pictures). If you are interested just contact me to discuss. I am looking for $3,500 for the head. If you want a bracelet we can negotiate. Shipping to be covered by buyer. Buyer has the option to return for 7 days if the buyer is not happy. The watch must be in same condition as sent so don't wear it while doing concrete work while trying to figure out if you want to keep it. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs. You will soon be stylin’ like Mr. Pitt |
