Greg Minuskin a Rolex watchmaker to the nib rescue!!!!!!!!!!!

You may remember I had a very unfortunate accident with my Montblanc 149:

I tried to get a local repairer to fix it and it came back exactly the same......and cost $50 for nothing.

The nib on my 149 was a triple broad oblique (O3B) which are very hard nibs to work with due to the angulated tip.

So if you had to think of someone who you would envisage could fix what was once a precision crafted nib tip you might say:

"Well if only a trained Rolex Watchmaker could have the knowledge and experience to fix my nib, that kind of guy would know what professional 'precision' and 'craftsmanship' is all about......"

Well I guess someone was looking down upon me favourably that day or it was just fate, whatever it was I ended up sending my pen to Greg Minuskin.

For those who are now thinking and wanting to ask "Who is Greg Minuskin?"

Greg is an ex-Rolex watchmaker, he helped set up and worked for many years in the Rolex Beverley Hills Service Centre which unfortunately closed a couple of years ago (sadly as that was a very well regarded service centre).

The repair was super fast but done with the precision of a brain surgeon.

The way this pen works now is better than it was brand new!!

I say all this, without receiving any financial benefit from Greg, I paid full price and have to say it was well worth it.

If this is the kind of magic Greg can do with my pen then I am sure he can turn any scratchy damaged nib into a great writing pen.





The flow of the ink on the page is now even and consistent, smooth and juicy.

In checking over my pen Greg noticed that the piston filler was stiff to turn. Without even asking he fixed it for no extra charge and now the piston filler turns like it is almost running on bearings true, unbelievable.

I believe Greg will also do watch repairs he was telling me about a vintage Comex he had recently and I would be confident in assuming he is just as good with watches as he is pens.
