Once again, I have proven myself... A Dorklehead.

So... uh.... If anyone remembers a thread I did last year, it was in regards to me being a Dorklehead, looking at my Daytona to see if the store was open so I could go buy a watch with a stopwatch on it to time my run.... And then realizing... Low and Behold my Rolex Daytona has a stop wach on it!!!!!

Yeah, Dorklehead. Well, today something similar happened I had to share.

I DID end up buying a plastic digital (cheap) watch to wear during my runs and excercising at the gym. It's called (I think) a MIO, and also has the ability to give a pulse reading. You place your index and second finger on two buttons on the face of the watch, and press, and a digital pulse reading comes up on the cyrstal. It is perfect for work-outs and I have been using it (and the pulse function) for several months. So, on to today...

I was at the gym for quite a while this evening, ran a pretty hard course on the treadmill and kept checking my pulse; not really sure why, not tracking it or anything but it's kind of cool to see the variations and keeping it a certain percentage for so many minutes etc. So I got in the habbit of putting my two fingers on the crystal and waiting for the pulse reading to appear.... (know where this is going?).

I was totally exhausted afterwards, took a shower at the gym, dressed and drove home. Deciding I was too tired to cook anything, I stopped by a chinese resturant for a take-out chicken-rice bowl, (really good, cheap and fast, perfect for a bachelor!). So, I'm sitting in the resturant, waiting for my order, and I said to myself: "Self, I wonder what your pulse is now? Half hour or so after your excercise, has it returned to normal?" And I promptly place my two fingers on the face of my watch and waited for the digital pulse reading to appear.. and waited.... and waited....

Honest to GOD, it took me over 30 seconds to realize.... I was wearing my Daytona.................

I would LIKE to blame this on my hard workout this evening, but, we all know the ugly truth... I... am a DORKLEHEAD....
