Glad, that the thread returned to the initial question.

To reply to it: I don't need it but I am used to have it and I frequently am looking at the date of my watch. It's like this for the last 30 years - I have a habit to do so and the missing date function annoyed me, when I had my Breguet XX.

I was feeling uncomfortable everytime, when I was looking for the date and it was not there.
So, why should I continue like this. I prefer to enjoy my watches - especially when everything is at place like I am used to.


P.S. I am calling Jake B my friend. I understand, why he uses the larger fonts and I understand others, who feel being bothered by this.
Being an old-fashion European, I always admired people in the US to be great in accepting opposing opinions.
