Icon12 Sorry modernistas...my 14060M is here...

OK hopefully I'll soon have a DSSD/SubC on the way so not all hope is lost...but I cannot tell you how happy and proud I am of this watch ..

I live with my grandmother, who is like a mother to me...she loves me to death (same here) and she always gives me pocket money from her pension (she won't be talked otherwise..I've tried)..

I've put the savings from the last 2 years or so and added a chunk from my savings and to her agreement I bought myself a watch that I'll take with me to the grave...

This watch had better be special...and it had to meet these criteria:

- Simple reliable movement
- Can take it with me diving apnea/scuba
- Comfortable for everyday wear for many years
- Will be easily serviced in the future
- Be able to accompany wherever I may go
- No fancy finsihing, polish, angles etc on the case
- Relatively light
- classic looks that will not age with time

I've thought long and hard about this...and finally decided that the 14060M was the winner..many might not agree, but it is a decision I feel well done...

I also opted for the COSC as it is the lastest version available and for it's 'KING OF COOL' Steve McQueen connection...

No..I didn't care whether I've put a couple of microscrtaches in taking the above shot ...this watch will be scratched to hell as it ages with me..

I just now need to remove a permanent link from the 6 o'clock side..a watch destined to be worn a lifetime better be comfortable ..

I apologize for choosing the worst time of day to take these pics but I am just now having a small break and couldn't wait to post some pics for you guys and am also doing an accuracy test..so far +4 secs./day..good enough for me..

In the past I would have had problems making my lifetime watch a Rolex but thanks to the kind people and general down to earth feeling of this forum I have to admit that I am now educated and that feel that some people like me buy Rolex cos they just happen to like the watch...and not for the status.. Thanks for looking !
