Advice on First Purchase
Hi,
Sorry to make my first post a request. I am in the process of aquiring my first Rolex and have decided upon a DateJust. To me that just IS rolex. I have never really considdered another model. Well, I hadn't untill coming on here every day for the last while. I have been looking in the Sales bit - but find it difficult to find someone selling in the UK. I live in North East England. I have just been and tried on a rolex for the first time today. A local store has two that I like the look of. Both are two-tone with light faces. Helpfully the store has them online so I can show you the exact ones I tried on. They both have the little diamond markers - which doesnt appeal to me, but doesnt put me off. I would prefer the bar markers. Anyway, the two I tried were simmilar looking and simmilar price. Both say they are 16233. and are of a simmilar age. One says 1990 and one says 1991. Just wanted to get an idea what kind of value you guys would attribute to such a watch to give me an idea as I am new to this. Neither has papers - which I realise is not great. I dont intend upon selling it - but you know how that goes, and selling is much easier with papers I understand. A little look on ebay (which may have been ill advised??) seems to show simmilar watches, some 5 years or so younger, being cheaper than the store I have been to. Here are the two anything you can tell me would be great before I go and get one. Or if you have reccomendations on trusted sellers in my part of the world. Thanks, Sean |
