Panerai to keep my rolex company?! Important question!!! need advice!
Hi fellow Rolex enthusiasts,
I have an important question for you: Back Story I have always been a fan of watches (particuarly rolex, audemars, pateks, hublots, breitling etc...) and have wanted to, over time, collect many watches. At first, through my highschool years, I started small. I started with a peice of junk aliminum bvlgari diagno, then bought an ebel 911, somewhere along picked up a raymond weil etc. Then, I bought a breitling (this was a years ago before they became so showy). I loved my breitling and decided it was time to take the rest of the watches, aside from the breitling, and trade up to a rolex ss dj. Ever since I love my rolex dj, and only take it off to wear my breitling when it is time to get really rough and rugged. (or sometimes traveling to uncertain places). Since, it has been my conviction that I only want to wear a rolex for the rest of my life... trading one watch for the next model when the time is right. (eventually a yg daytona). FINALLY THE POINT: I never heard of panerai, paid any attention to panerai's, untill I came on this forums. I noticed rolex people liked panerais and i thought they must be cool. I looked at pictures online and really didnt get the appeal. yes they looked manly, and understated, but not special. not dressy, nor intricate etc. Well, my pops just picked up a brand new 1950 and well... I think I love panerai now. I wouldnt, and couldnt replace my rolex, but maybe its nice to change it up and wear a strap once and a while instead of a bracelet. I am leaning towards a power reserve PAM 241 40MM. I dont have the money right now, however I am considering picking one up on grey market with cash + breitling to get the price down. Anyone think this is a good idea? Anyone think panerai is a fad, and maybe I should borrow my dads for a few months strait then move on? Anyone have an other reasons to add to my arguement for picking one up? |
