OK to buy GMT IIC, even though I do not travel?

I totally love the look of the gmt2c, but I do not travel. And If I do, it is only within USA so I can add subtract hours without issues. I feel guilty buying a watch whose part of functionality I will not use or care to use and the green hand will always remind me of it.

But then again:
1) 99.99% do not dive with their subs so is buying a sub a waste too? No
2) 99.99% of Daytona owners do not know how to use their bezel -- so is that a waste too? No
3) One guy here uses his sub to time how long it takes his spaghetti to cook -- so is
that a waste too --HELL YES IT IS! It is a downright insult!!

Anyone here feels guilty owning a GMT2C and being totally ignorant about the green hand???

Is not using a watch's functionality mean you wasted part of your$$$?
