Is the local jeweler asking too much for the repair?
I first noticed that I was having a little trouble winding my GMT 16700, Ser#N22XXXX. Then it did not wind at all and I had to pull hard on the crown to move the hands.
I took it down to a reputable local jeweler that had a Rolex Certified Technician that could buy parts from Rolex, replace the necessary parts with Rolex Parts, and a year warranty. I left it for an estimate. The jeweler called me and told me it would cost $1041 to replace the necessary parts for the winder, service and polish the watch. It would come with a year warranty. I looked at some RF Threads to see if this was reasonable, but did not find anything current. It seemed a little high. Is this reasonable or should I send it to an RFC. What should I expect to pay at the RFC and which is the one to send it to? Thanks |
