Back again :) now with a rolex and heaps of questions

My dad has just given me his rolex its a Rolex Date Just brought in 1988. Now as you can see there are some scratched on the cyclops and well the glass is not scratch Resistance like my Tag.

My parents are going to HK in December and well I'm looking at getting it serviced as it needs one badly still works fine as we speak.

Does anyone know how much it cost to get it serviced there ? whats involved besides a bit of grease and oil up and polish. Do they replace the cyclops or buff out the scratches ?? or can they ?


Having said that I want to update the dial to the black face like the picture below is that possible with the model ???.
Can I change the glass to a non scratch Resistance one?

Anyone have and idea of cost.

Basically I wanna update the whole watch

Do all rolex the glass sticks out a couple of mm fromt the bezel ???
