Rolex has been using a letter prefix in their serial numbers since 1987 when they started using R. They went through R,L,E,X, in sequence (no 0 since it looks like o) up until early 1993. In 1992 (yes it overlapped by a year) they began random letters as a prefix until we are where we are at today with the Letter "M" being the ones just recently released. To date they've used 18 letters. |
