My little roli story
Hi everyone,
2nd time poster here. I've been wanting a rolex for years. I've always loved watches. I have a swiss army, A tag, a bullova, a roven dino and a couple of other cheap designer watches. The tag is nice, retailed for about 800 10 years ago. All I heard about was the kids have to go to college (which is true) and how we could use the money for other things. Well, I finally got the Ok from her and started to look around. I knew which one wanted. I love the DJ 16233, TT with WF and RN. I couldn't afford to get a new one, but I found a cream puff at reputable jeweler. This jeweler was actually the original seller of the watch. It has all the papers, the box and everything else. I don't have the serial number on hand, the box is in my closet, and even though the jeweler said the watch was 10 years old, I believe the watch is from 1999-2000, because their is a 1999-2000 calender in the box and the it has the "no holes" style bracelet which I think came out in after 1999? Anyway, the watch is mint. The dealer had it priced at 4800. I got it for 3200 + tax. I've seen them all over ebay for the same price or more so I think I paid a good price. I've only had the thing for a week and as some of you may have already read from my first post, I whacked the face on a filing cabinet at work today. I was pissed but their is only 2 minor, hardly visible scratches in between the 1 and the 2 on the crystal. Anyway, it's shiny and awesome and looks brand new and their is no denying it's a roli !!!! The only problem is now I want the SUB. I like the face which is 4mm larger. I also like the oyster bracelet. Guess I'll have to start scratching the wife's back a little more. |
