New Explorer I - wristshot included -
I have admired the Rolex Explorer IIs for a long time, as it was the first Rolex I ever wanted. So after spening many hours in an AD over a period of 3 days debating b/w the Explorer IIs (black & white dials), the GMT IIC, and the Explorer I, it came down to the white dial Explorer II vs. the Explorer I. Against the salesperson's recommendation to go with the white dial Explorer II, I walked out with the Explorer I.
I find the newer version to be an ideal watch.. for me at least. It is simple, elegant, clean, extremely versatile, kind of unique in a way, the fit & feel are phenomenal, and the size & dimensions are perfect. I think Rolex really nailed it with the changes to this model.. no discredit to the previous version.. it was just a little too small for me personally. To top it off, the serial letter and numbers have senitmental value for when I pass it on to my son down the line.. which makes me very happy. Made the purchase last week.. no buyer's remorse, no worries about scratches/dings.. this one is here to stay. Enough about me.. thank you for reading! |
