Rolex Daytona 116520 SS - Modding with leather strap
I guess this might be controversial to some, so move on if you want. :-)
I like the Daytona, but I also like it slightly different from how Rolex wants it. It's in the details. The dial, the strap, the endlinks and the buckle. I guess I should have bought a white gold Daytona, but I like steel. And my wallet likes steel too. I had already swapped the dial and got endlinks from TRF member etur. But the leather strap with a no name buckle didn't feel quite right to me. And the buckle was just sitting in the drawer, so why not order a leather strap made for the white gold Daytona? I guess I'm too cheap to buy Rolex own, but using a knife and tools on that is just too risky. And, the fitting is different. So I bought a no-name band from eBay. It was a bit fiddly to cut things right, but I got there in the end. Pics |
