Which one to get: 116622 or 16623?
Hey guys,
I am deciding between the to Rolex models to buy - 116622 (platinum silver dial) and 16623 (steel/gold with grey dial). Both brand new from the dealer and 40 mm. I have several questions: 1. Platinum/steel model is a bit cheaper (around 300$ cheaper) - how come? Platinum as a metal is more expensive than gold. Is it hollow, less platinum in platinum/steel model than gold in gold model? Really need an explanation... 2. As I understand, the new 116622 (platinum classic silver dial face) model is now upgraded to have the same features as 116622 (new blue dial) model. Is it true? Are they identical? In terms of: bracelet/clasp, mechanism (parachrom), chromalite dial - is this all true? If so, has the 16623 model been also upgraded to have these new features (parachrom, chromalite, new clasp, etc)? On the website of Rolex it is hard to tell. In French version, it says that 16623 has now chromalite lume as well, in English version, it does not say this. Does anyone know the actual situation? Thanks Borns P.S. which of the two models - steel/gold/grey dial or steel/platinum/silver dial would choose YOU and why? I tried them both and liked the steel/gold combination but leaning towards steel/platinum model for some reason (internet influence)...It is really hard to choose... |
