Question on 114060 Sub verses 116610 Sub

I would like to know the general consensus out there about having the non date version 114060 sub instead of the 116610 sub. I like both but in todays world don't really need the date version besides there is more to break or service. My concern is do people think the non date is sub par to the date? Let me know what you guys think out there.
