Hi guys, just signed in and glad to participate. I live in Peru and just inherited a gold/steel fluted bezel oyster bracelet 1997 date Rolex. Previously had a steel Submariner that got stolen. I have always loved Rolex watches and this one is no exception. It really looks great.
Can you guys help with a couple of answers?
The watch has the word " DATE " on the dial. Is there such a model? Shouldn't it be " DATEJUST "?
Also, when I wind it there seems to be two stages: At first there is certain resistance in the crown and after some turns it diminishes. Is that normal? Is there a mechanism that does that to avoid overwinding the watch?
Is it safe to get it serviced out of RSC? This watch looks like new.
Lastly, what is the value of this watch?
I'm attaching a picture of it.

Best regards,
