Tried on a GMT IIC at an AD today...

First off, I am more a vintage Rolex guy, but I am always drawn to the GMT IIC when I see one in the wild, or as in this case, an AD. Trying on the new GMT's reminds why I like the Rolex brand.

The new GMT's has features that I really admire, features that make the new watches in many respects better and/or different than the vintage Rolex watches. I am no expert, but I suspect this is why the Rolex brand continues to do well. This AD didn't have their normal stockpile of Rolex watches to view. The manager told me that they had a very good Christmas in terms of Rolex, and they were waiting for replacements, especially the GMT BLNR, which they claimed is already on hold for a customer.

Lastly, for $8,400 dollars, a new GMT seems like a bargain considering what I would pay for a vintage RedSub, DRSD, Explorer, etc. There I said it, the new GMT delivers excellent value, and I may have to open up my wallet one day to get one....!

thanks
